Onions, potatoes, green beans, cabbage, green bell peppers (capsicums), cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. Yum! Plus clover honey from the local honey farm.
The offerings were smaller this week, with two new entrants. The new items this week were broccoli and potatoes.
The selection from the CSA this week included more cabbage, garlic scapes, kale, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and a new entrant that looks kind of like Sputn
I arrived at the market early (read 8am) on Saturday as we had a cable guy coming to install a new outlet. I was greeted with a big bag of Kale, more garlic scapes, some huge spring onions, more cherry tomatoes, some herb I have no idea what it is, mint and a special treat from The Swiss Connection Farmstead Cheeses. I was offered an alternative to the cheese as the CSA has information on my dairy allergy, but I accepted it anyway as my wife can eat it. We received a half pound of the gouda-like Flora cheese.
The email update from the wonderful folk at the CSA wasn’t received until after I picked up our share this week. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small paper bag from the Bloomington Coffee Roasters. We received about a half a pound of their Good Day blend. I have been meaning to check out their stuff for a while now, and it is pretty decent.
