The new addition this week was fresh garlic! The scapes have been gone for a couple of weeks, now we have moved to the actual bulb. It smells wonderful and tastes just as good. There were also onions that I have been sautéing on the grill, cucumbers, a lot of red potatoes, two oddly shaped zucchini and some broccoli that had some sort of worm bug all through it. I can’t think of a time we have had so many onions in the house, or cucumbers for that matter.
The added little extra this week was a bag of bread flour. I need to sit down and figure out what to do with it. It is grown and milled using a naturally fertilised with no chemical pesticides red wheat berry that contains 14% protein by a local woman who runs a sheep farm. I am looking forward to and dreading using this. It should be an adventure!
So, tonight I am using some of the garlic, some of the onion and a head of cabbage we received a couple of weeks back to make a dish to go with dinner.
